Somya Nayak is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Asian Languages, in The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad after completion of her M.A and M.Phil in Chinese Language from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. She is a recipient of India China Bilateral Scholarship 2011-2012 to pursue advanced Chinese language courses in Beijing. Her research interests include Chinese language, society and culture. She has presented and shared her research work at various International forums in India and abroad. She is a participant of the Young Sinologist Programme , held at HangZhou, China in 2018. In view of her work and contribution in the field of Chinese language and culture, she has been nominated as an expert member of the Project Monitoring and Mentoring Group (PMMG) of the DRDO, Bangalore.
